In November we begin our study of Bryan Stevenson's award winning book: Just Mercy. It is his story of rescuing innocent men, women and children from death row and from unjust lifetime sentences for non-violent crimes.
This is currently an immense social issue we are facing today. Having more just prison sentencing and reducing our prison population is supported by people of all political persuasions as well as by high ranking law enforcement officers in all parts of the country.
This issue effects us all. The high prison population takes money that could be used in many other underfunded areas. And it ruins lives. It causes many of those released from prison to live on the fringes of society, people who struggle to be law-abiding citizens and to live a fulfilling life, but are not able to because of their prison record.
Join us as we look deeply at this issue with one of the most remarkable minds working to change our unjust system.
