Welcome To Sage-ing

A sage is a wise person. Therefore Sage-ing is a journey into wisdom. We don't become wiser just because we grow older, but rather we must do inner work to grow in wisdom. The Sage-ing Program helps us do this inner work through deep discussions and studying the thoughts of men and women who have a deep spiritual understanding.

Our classes also help us to develop a greater understanding of ourselves and others through writing about the lives we have led, learning to meditate and working towards understanding our dreams.

Following are our Sage-ing classes for 2018:


Writing Your Memoir


Those who write their life story find they come to know themselves better, have a greater understanding of the lessons their life has to teach, and provide a legacy to     their children and grandchildren.

The facilitator is D J Osborne. D J has been
facilitating this class since its beginning around 2002.

Dates: Wednesdays: February 7 thru March 14; April 25 thru
           May 30; August 15 thru September 5; October 17 thru
           October 31.          
Time: 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
Location: Winter Haven Public Library

Shirley

Understanding Your Dreams

 Discover the rich meaning of your dreams as you learn to interpret them using a unique method of group discussion.

 The facilitator is Shirley Curtis-Ference, a retired English professor who has studied with Jeremy Taylor, a world-renown expert of dream interpretation.

 Dates: Wednesdays: February 7 thru March 14; April 25 thru 
           May 30; August 15 thru September 5; October 17 thru
           October 31.
Time: 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm.

Intro to Sage-ing: Finding Joy in the Second Half of Life

Become engaged in a deep conversation, taking you on a journey filled with wonder, humor, and learning, a journey within yourself, a journey you will treasure.

The facilitator is Andy Belkin. Andy received her Sage-ing training in South Bend, Indiana and has a long career facilitating groups.
                

Dates: Thursdays
           January 25 thru March 15, 2018.

Time: 10:00 am to 12:00 noon.

Location: The Self Center

Write Like a Pro
Jean

This class is practical, collaborative, and
jargon-free, emphasizing strategies that
real-world writers use. Wherever possible,              
we'll work with writing done by class
members. Writing activities will be related
to the skills members want to learn.
Whether you're writing your life story or
striving to be published, this class will help
you to be a better writer.

The facilitator is Jean Reynolds, a retired English professor from PSC and a published writer.

Dates: Thursdays: 
           January 4 thru February 1; March 22 thru April 19;
           June 7 thru June 21; July 12 thru August 9;
           September 13 thru October 11; November 1 thru 
           November 15, 2018.

 Times: 3:15 to 4:45 PM

Sage-ing Wisdom Circle

While this class is designed for those who have completed the "Intro to Sage-ing: Finding Joy in the Second Half of Life" class, it is open to everyone. It is a continuation of the deep discussions held in that class.



Dates: Mondays (No class when library is closed.)
