Welcome To Sage-ing

A sage is a wise person. Therefore Sage-ing is a journey into wisdom. We don't become wiser just because we grow older, but rather we must do inner work to grow in wisdom. The Sage-ing Program helps us do this inner work through deep discussions and studying the thoughts of men and women who have a deep spiritual understanding.

Our classes also help us to develop a greater understanding of ourselves and others through writing about the lives we have led, learning to meditate and working towards understanding our dreams.

  1. This past Thursday, November 18, we continued our study of Marshall Rosenberg's book on non-violent communication.

In this second chapter he writes of several types of communication he calls "life alienating communication" including blame, comparison, insults, and put-downs to name a few.

Trying to identify these in our own style of speaking and then to change our way of speaking to non-violent is not an easy task as we found out through a lively discussion.

One of the lessons I took away from this discussion is that our culture and language lend to our thinking and speaking in "life alienating" words and that I have a difficult time looking at my own needs when in the middle of a heated discussion.

I look forward to more of these discussions as I believe I have a lot of work to do in this area of my life.
